Academics: Course of Study Lower School (K5-6th) The Lower School academic disciplines are taught in contained classroom settings along with specialist instructors for the enrichment classes (art, music, etc.). In the upper elementary, we employ a team teaching structure for the core classes as well. We teach the following academic disciplines: Bible Reading Art History Grammar Music Geography Spelling Computer Mathematics Writing Physical Education Science Penmanship Library Upper School (7th-12th) The Upper School employs a seven-period day. Five of the seven possible periods are the core courses of Bible, English, science, history, and mathematics. In 7th and 8th grades, the remaining blocks are physical education, a semester of computer, and either a semester of art or music (7th) or logic (8th).
