UPPER SCHOOL PRINCIPAL
Decatur Heritage Christian Academy (Decatur, AL) is seeking to hire an Upper School Principal for the upcoming school year. First and foremost, this qualified and proven leader will have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge and love for Christian education. It is important that the next principal is skilled at building relationships with all constituencies, demonstrates positive and motivational leadership, values collaboration and open dialogue, skilled in written and spoken communication, organized, hard-working, innovative, and a person of integrity.

Clear and effective written and oral communication skills
Organized and detail-oriented
Minimum of 3 years of experience in school administration, preferably as a principal.
Responsibilities
Work collaboratively and collegially with the Head of School, Lower School Principal, and Dean of Students & Student Activities as part of the Executive Leadership team in the following areas: Curriculum, Organizational Policies, Budgeting, Accreditation, Strategic Planning, Staff Recruitment/Hiring, Admissions Support, Community Relations.
Observe, establish, and initiate professional growth and development plans and opportunities for upper school faculty.
Organize and lead Professional Learning Communities in partnership with the Lower School Principal.
Lead the decision-making process regarding the academic placement, retention, and probation of upper school students.
Assist in parent conferences as needed to support the work of the administrative team, guidance counselor and/or faculty.
Develop and oversee all policies and procedures that pertain to, but are not limited to, the running of the daily educational programs of the school.
Work in conjunction with the Executive Leadership team to create a seamless and cohesive kindergarten to twelfth grade academic program that integrates a Biblical worldview.
